At YES, we believe in creating real opportunities for young people to pursue their passions—and for Mia, that passion is ballet. Mia’s commitment to dance is deeply rooted. As her family shared, “Mia’s commitment and love of ballet and MDT is real. Ballet serves her in her young life in so many different ways. It has been beautiful for us as her family to watch her follow her passion for ballet and performing.” That passion earned Mia a YES sponsorship—an opportunity designed for youth who show motivation, commitment to their interests, and a desire to grow. When she learned her application had been approved, her excitement said it all: “A private with Ms. Cox!! I always wanted to be able to do that!” she exclaimed, thrilled at the chance to train one-on-one with Lynn Cox, Artistic Director at Marin Dance Theatre. This sponsorship not only opened the door to that dream—it also provides Mia with the opportunity to renew her support each year until she turns 19, giving her a stable foundation to continue developing her skills.
